Amazon Customer Review: Joanne Tailele’s novel, Rehoming Pigeons: I was happily engaged in the story’s clever melding of seemingly unconnected events. And, those taking place inside dark Russia. Not only of the vivid physical descriptions but of the social/political environment of the time. I felt I was actually there experiencing it.

Joanne Simon Tailele

About The Author: Joanne Simon Tailele was born a mid-west girl in Youngstown Ohio and wrote her first short story at the age of ten in blue colored pencil. It was titled “The Mystery of the Missing Marble.” For most of her life, the writing was for pleasure only. In 2010, Tailele wrote her first novel. Two and a half years of edits and rewrites later, it was ready for publication. ACCIDENT is the reincarnated version of that original story. It is available on Amazon in print and e-book.

A second novel, Town Without Mercy released in January 2014. “I love Jodi Picoult’s description of her stories, coined ‘moral fiction.’ I do not expect to change the minds of my readers; however, I hope to cause them to re-think difficult contemporary issues and see them through a different lens.”

June 19, 2015, launched the biography of Mari-Rae Sopper, Within Her Grasp. Her dream was to be a professional gymnast. Sometimes her tumultuous personality got in her way. Her climb was slow but focused and determined. Finally, it was all within her grasp. The day was September 11, 2001.

Her next women’s fiction, Rehoming Pigeon, is about “when international adoption goes all wrong.” Cecile thinks her dreams of motherhood are dashed forever when she is trapped in an attic during Hurricane Katrina. But on the other side of the world, six-year-old Natalia is destined to be her daughter. It will take gaining, and losing Natalia for Cecile to finally understand true motherly love.

Ms. Tailele assisted Walter Pienta in writing his memoir, Journey Through Hell to Paradise, by compiling interviews and past transcripts into a fascinating story of survival, triumph, and love from World War II to the present.
